CEA COVID-19 Bulletin #11

A quick update to round off the week with a new CEA Members’ COVID-19 bulletin. Please click here to view the bulletin.

The CEA has been active on its members’ behalf, lobbying both BEIS and the Treasury. We continuing to ask for flexibility in the Jobs Retention Scheme (JRS) and for an extension of the scheme to help employers on a tapered return to full capacity once the lockdown is eased. We are calling for a reduction in the minimum furlough time from 3 weeks down to one, with the option to put workers on reduced hours for a three or four day week as manufacturing gradually recovers.

The CEA with Make UK  and several of our OEM members have input into a new government “Safe Working” group for manufacturing and retail, commissioned by the Secretary of State for BEIS and delivered by EY.com. T
