Enterprise Ireland is the organisation through which the Irish Government helps Irish companies grow their activities and sustain their positions in global markets. This new position, based at the London offices of Enterprise Ireland, will strengthen an existing team which promotes and facilitates commercial contact and long term working relationships between Irish companies operating in the construction sector and the emerging and growing UK activity in the development of transport, energy and associated infrastructure programmes.

The role carries responsibility for a range of tasks that cover market analysis, regular communication with Irish construction companies and the introduction of their services to prospective customers in both the public and private sectors in the UK. These services may cover the full range of construction related activity including civil engineering, design, contracting, surveying and supply chain.

You will proactively identify business opportunities through connections and research and work within a framework of targeted KPI’s. Reporting to a Senior Adviser and operating in a team environment the position calls for a degree qualified construction industry professional with engineering, marketing or commercial experience who has accrued a breadth of knowledge with regard to the operation and structure of the UK activity in the construction sector, ideally via an early career within one or more of the industry majors, Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors. Recent experience should include commercial or project involvement and this should also be coupled with a University degree.

The role calls for proactive communications skills across a wide spectrum of disciplines and seniorities in order to identify opportunities at the earliest stage and then to present them to a portfolio of potential providers, often specialist SME’s, in Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a positive and ambitious individual to make a real impact with tangible results in a role that is varied and challenging. As the UK is the largest export market for Irish owned companies the potential of this role is significant and one which also carries visibility, real prospects for sector recognition and career development as a result. The position is a 3-year fixed term contact and you will be expected to live within a reasonable commute of London.
