Brazilian cities are facing challenges that are common to many other urban cities worldwide and as diverse as improving mobility, increasing citizen safety, delivering sustainable public service and better supporting local innovation. In the past decades, Brazil has experienced an incredible population boom, tripling in size, but most of that growth was concentrated in urban areas such as Sao Paulo (whose Metropolitan Region now has over 20 million inhabitants), Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba and cities in the Northeast. Developing intelligent urban infrastructure is key to identify the right technologies for the right challenges these cities have and the UK can share world-leading innovative solutions to tackle them.
